Indiana Authors Awards Ambassadors

Thank you for your interest in serving as an ambassador for the Indiana Authors Awards. The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Awards honor the best books written by Hoosier authors in multiple categories every two years—books that build on the state’s bedrock of literary tradition and provide a vast mine of material for Indiana Humanities’ rich literary programming. The most recent round of winners will be announced on September 1st, with a Literary Champion Award to be announced on September 2nd. Awards were given in the following categories: children’s, young adult, poetry, genre, fiction, nonfiction and emerging. You can view the shortlists here.

Because the awards have been recently adapted and expanded, we are looking for passionate readers and community members dedicated to the Hoosier state to join us as ambassadors of the Indiana Authors Awards. Ambassadors will help us spread the word about these accomplished authors and shine a spotlight on the fact that Indiana is a great place to live and work if you care about the written word.

As an ambassador, you will do the following to promote Hoosier voices and encourage people to #ReadLocal.

  • Start by reading an Indiana Authors Award-winning book and writing a review to be posted on social media or Goodreads. (Check out how you can earn a gift card for writing a review here)
  • Follow and like @INHumanities and @INAuthorsAwards on social media.
  • Distribute the Indiana Authors Awards materials we send to you at your local libraries, bookstores, schools or coffee shops.

We will be sending ambassadors both a packet of physical materials and digital assets to help you promote the Indiana Authors Awards. We will also follow-up periodically to provide more resources, to update on the award winners and to check on how things are going.
