2022 Children’s Shortlist
Kenneth Kraegel grew up in Mishawaka, Indiana. He is a self-taught illustrator and the creator of picture books. His books have won awards from the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Kirkus Reviews, The New York Public Library, The Chicago Public Library, the Parent’s Choice Foundation, the Bank Street College of Education, the International Literacy Association, Amazon, and the Junior Library Guild. He is also a tutor for people with reading challenges, such as dyslexia. He now lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but still considers himself a Hoosier.
